TV channels Romania
Romanian television has three strong currents: the public broadcaster with its regional studios, a competitive commercial news scene, and a layer of local stations and church channels that reaches deep into the country's regions and its diaspora.
The Public Broadcaster
TVR 1 is the main channel of Romanian Television and the country's first TV station, on air since 31 December 1956. TVR 2, launched on 2 May 1968, is its companion; TVR 3, launched in October 2008, is the network's third service; TVR Info is the public news channel; TVR i is the international service carrying the best of Romanian public TV to viewers abroad; and TVR Cultural, launched in 2002, covers culture and the arts.

Local and Regional
Romania's local layer runs deep. TeleM Iași, founded in 1991, was the first private station of Iași; Iași TV Life covers the same city's daily life. Tele Europa Nova has covered the Banat from Timișoara for three decades. Credo TV is an interdenominational evangelical channel broadcasting from Suceava in Bukovina.
