TV channels Soudan
Television in Sudan is built around state broadcasting: the country has no private terrestrial stations, so the national television service remains the main source of news and cultural programming.
The National Broadcaster
Sudan TV is the state television channel of Sudan, run by the Sudan National Broadcasting Corporation (SNBC). It broadcasts in Arabic and carries news, cultural programmes and nationwide content for the Sudanese audience.
A Channel of West African Languages
Alongside the state broadcaster, viewers can watch Africa TV3, a channel aimed at West African audiences. Its programmes in Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani are devoted to the continent's cultural heritage: the music, art and traditions of different African peoples.
Sudan's television picture is thus shaped by two distinct voices: the state service covers the national agenda, while Africa TV3 connects viewers with the culture of the West African region.
