From Generalist to News Channel

B1 TV was launched on 22 December 2001 as a regional generalist channel for Bucharest and became a national station on 8 May 2002. Its breakthrough came with the talk show NAȘUL, moderated by Radu Moraru - the most-watched talk show in Romania in 2007. The channel turned to news and current affairs in 2011: relaunched as an infotainment service on 17 March 2011 with a newscast presented by Sanda Nicola, it adopted its current news format on 27 September of the same year.

Since 8 May 2021 the channel has broadcast in HD, and its signal reaches 92 percent of Romanian territory through cable networks, satellite and IPTV platforms.
