TV channels Macedonia

Television in North Macedonia revolves around one public institution and a circle of private networks from Skopje: the state broadcaster carries a whole family of channels - from the first program to a parliamentary service - while commercial screens and a rolling-news operation complete the picture.

The public broadcaster MRT

MRT 1 is the first channel of Macedonian Radio Television, the country's public broadcaster. MRT 2 broadcasts sport, culture, documentaries and programming for the country's minorities. MRT 3, MRT 4 and MRT 5 extend the family - MRT 5 serving the youngest viewers - while MRT sat and MRT 2 Sat carry the public grid by satellite to viewers abroad, and MRT Assembly Channel shows the sessions of the Assembly of North Macedonia live from Skopje.

The commercial networks of Skopje

TV 21 broadcasts from the capital with news, talk and entertainment for the national audience. Telma is a prominent national channel, Alfa TV adds its own general programming, and Kanal 5 keeps viewers connected with news, entertainment and sports. Klan Macedonia serves the country's Albanian-speaking audience, and TV Kanal 8 brings regional television to its part of the country.

News and local screens

Televizija 24 is the dedicated news channel, and A1on runs a live mix of news, shows and sports events. On the local side, TV kanal VIS and Tv Sonce add their own city programming.
