MRT 5 Live Stream

MRT 5 (МРТ 5) is a channel of Macedonian Radio Television (MRT), the public broadcasting organisation of North Macedonia, headquartered in Skopje. It began broadcasting on 8 April 2020 at 16:00 - in the first weeks of the pandemic's school closures - as the public service's specialised channel for children's programming.

Launched When Schools Closed

The channel's arrival in April 2020 came as schools across the country closed in the first weeks of the pandemic: MRT 5 became the public broadcaster's answer for children at home, carrying cartoons, educational programmes and kids' entertainment in Macedonian when families needed it most. It has remained the family's children's screen since.

The Public Service's Children's Channel

The channel carries cartoons, educational and children's programmes, distributed within the MRT network of channels - MRT 1, MRT 2, MRT 3, MRT 4 and the parliamentary Sobraniski Kanal - and streamed live on the MRT play portal.

Children's Television, Macedonian

The grid is built on cartoons and educational content for the country's young audience, in Macedonian - the public broadcaster's dedicated children's screen, for a country of about 1.8 million people. MRT has been the country's public broadcaster since its television service began in December 1964, in the Yugoslav era. The channel is free to view on the MRT play portal.
