MRT 1 Live Stream

MRT 1 is the first television service of Macedonian Radio Television (MRT), North Macedonia’s public broadcaster. Its history goes back to TV Skopje: the station’s first television news bulletin aired on 14 December 1964 from an improvised studio in Skopje. MRT 1 now serves as the broadcaster’s main Macedonian-language channel, carrying news alongside cultural, musical, documentary and other public-service programming. MRT provides a live stream through its official MRT Play service.

News and current affairs

News remains central to the channel’s identity. MRT’s published programme listings include Dnevnik (News Bulletin), the daily news service, and 360 Stepeni (360 Degrees), a current-affairs programme. The schedule also lists Dobro Utro Makedonijo (Good Morning Macedonia), a morning programme, and Agrar (Agriculture), reflecting coverage beyond daily politics. These examples are taken from MRT’s own programme listings; schedules may change over time.

Culture, sport and public programming

The channel’s published line-up also features Knizhevna Odiseja (Literary Odyssey), alongside music, cultural features, documentaries and sports coverage. MRT describes its broader public-service output as including information, education, science, culture and the arts, documentary and drama programming, and music and entertainment. Through its online television stream, MRT 1 continues the public broadcaster’s role of bringing Macedonian-language reporting and programmes to viewers in North Macedonia and abroad.
