Icelandic television is among the most compact in Europe: at the centre stands the public broadcaster, beside it the parliamentary channel and the video platform of a news outlet.

The Public Broadcaster RÚV

RÚV - Ríkisútvarpið - is Iceland's national public broadcaster: the country's main channel with news, Icelandic drama series and documentaries, children's and cultural programming. Its second screen, RÚV2, takes over sports coverage, major events and the programs that do not fit the main schedule.

Parliamentary Television

Althingi TV is the television service of the Althing, Iceland's parliament: live sessions, debates and parliamentary committees without commentary or editing - the country's political life as it is.

The Video Service Vísir

Vísir is the video channel of the Icelandic news outlet of the same name: reports, interviews and the day's stories in Icelandic.

Four channels - and the entire television structure of the island: broadcaster, parliament and press.
