RÚV2 Live Stream

RÚV2 is the part-time second television channel of RÚV (Ríkisútvarpið), Iceland's national public service broadcaster. The channel exists to give Iceland live coverage of major cultural and sporting events - domestic and foreign - when the main RÚV channel cannot carry them, from extra football fixtures to national ceremonies and concerts.

Parent broadcaster

RÚV's main television channel launched on 30 September 1966 and is the country's oldest TV service, known as Sjónvarpið until 2011 and as RÚV1 between 2011 and 2016. It carries the flagship news programme Fréttir, home-grown successes such as the mystery drama Ófærð (Trapped) and the sketch show Spaugstofan, alongside British, American and Nordic content. RÚV is a member of the European Broadcasting Union, Iceland's Olympic broadcaster and the selector of the country's Eurovision entries, with rights traditionally including the FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro.

Distribution

RÚV2 is available free-to-air in Iceland and streams through RÚV's website ruv.is, which carries the live broadcasts of both RÚV channels.
