Althingi TV Live Stream

Althingi TV refers to television coverage of Alþingi, Iceland’s national parliament. The parliament’s official broadcasting information says that sittings and open committee meetings are streamed on its website. The player also offers replay for up to six hours, with a separate option providing a 48-hour replay window. This makes the service a focused source for following parliamentary work online.

Plenary sittings and committee meetings

The broadcast centres on plenary sittings and open committee meetings. Viewers can follow debates and the public work of elected representatives as it takes place. Alþingi states that its channel is also distributed through participating television providers, while its website offers a direct viewing option. The official page describes the stream as live coverage, so viewers can use it to watch parliamentary proceedings when they are underway.

Live coverage and replay

The web player includes a six-hour replay feature, and Alþingi provides access to a player with a 48-hour replay window. That flexibility is useful when a meeting is in progress or has recently ended. The parliament’s website also publishes related meeting information and documents, allowing viewers to connect a broadcast with the formal business under discussion.

A parliamentary channel

Unlike a general entertainment service, Althingi’s television output follows the institution’s public meetings. Its programme categories are therefore parliamentary debate, committee business and legislative proceedings, rather than a fixed slate of entertainment shows. Check the official Alþingi broadcasting page for current availability and the applicable replay options before you watch Althingi TV online.
