DR Ramasjang Live Stream

Every evening at eight, DR Ramasjang does something no other children's channel does: it goes to bed. The hosts curl up on screen, a message tells the children when the channel will wake up, and the broadcast ends for the night. It is the most famous goodnight in Danish television.

The ritual tells you everything about the channel's approach. Ramasjang - the name is the Danish word for a loud, happy ruckus - is the children's channel of DR, Denmark's public broadcaster, made for viewers aged 3 to 13. It launched on 1 November 2009 and is run from Aarhus, where DR concentrated its children's division.

The schedule runs from early morning until eight at night: preschool programs with songs and play in the morning, drama and adventure for school-age children in the afternoon, family entertainment before bedtime. Its own productions include the mystery series Ramasjang Mysteriet and the beloved character Onkel Reje; the claymation John Dillermand made international headlines in 2021. Between the Danish shows come dubbed international favorites like Gurli Gris and Barbapapa.

Free to air across Denmark on digital terrestrial, satellite and cable, Ramasjang carries the public-service tradition into children's television: no advertising, Danish-language content, and programs made in Denmark for Danish children.
