In the town of Ruski Krstur, the local news is read in Rusyn. In Kovacica, it comes in Slovak. In the villages of the Romanian southeast, in Romanian. This is what RTV 2 is for - the second channel of Radio Television of Vojvodina, where the province's minority languages take center stage.

Where the first channel carries the main grid, RTV 2 gives room to what makes Vojvodina distinct: extended broadcasts in Hungarian, Slovak, Croatian, Romanian, Rusyn and Romani, alongside the documentaries, cultural programs, music and educational content that a generalist schedule cannot fit.

The channel is a public service in the deepest sense. For the Hungarians of the north, the Slovaks of Kovacica, the Rusyns of Ruski Krstur, it is often the only television in their own language - the broadcaster that belongs to all of the province's communities equally.

Its operator, Radio Television of Vojvodina, traces its roots to Radio Novi Sad, on air since 1949, and took its current form in 2006. RTV 2 broadcasts from Novi Sad, in every language the province speaks.
