RTR-Planeta Live Stream

Somewhere in Toronto, or Tel Aviv, or a small town in Germany, a Russian speaker turns on the television and finds Moscow. That is the whole idea of RTR-Planeta - the channel VGTRK built for the people who left.

Launched on 1 July 2002 by the state broadcaster, RTR-Planeta assembles the strongest output of the company's channels - Russia-1, Russia-K and the rest - and beams it to Russian-speaking audiences on every continent. In the CIS countries and Asia-Pacific it goes by the name Rossiya RTR; everywhere else it is Planeta RTR.

The grid is a compilation of the home broadcaster's best: the flagship Vesti news editions, the big entertainment shows, the drama series and the documentaries. The day also brings the morning shows, the game and music programs and the political talk that defines Russian television's prime time. Major national events - parades, celebrations, state occasions - are carried live for the international audience.

The channel broadcasts in Russian with English subtitles and transmits in high definition, produced from the company's Moscow studios. For the diaspora it is not just a channel but a connection - the home country, on screen, in their language.
