DHA is the video and television service of Demirören Haber Ajansı, the Demirören News Agency, one of Turkey's main news agencies. The agency was founded in 1999 and belongs to the Demirören Group, and it supplies news to newspapers, broadcasters and websites in Turkish, English, German and Chinese.

Newsroom

The agency's scale is considerable: by 2011 it operated 41 offices inside Turkey and 26 abroad, with correspondents covering politics, the economy, sport, culture and daily life. That network makes its video feed a continuous record of events as they happen, from breaking news and official statements to sport and entertainment.

The agency was formerly owned by the Doğan Media Group and known as Doğan Haber Ajansı, and in that period its reporting was noted for critical coverage of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In March 2018 the parent company was sold to the Demirören Group, whose owner is close to the government, and the agency took its present name.

Television Output

The DHA live service carries the agency's raw video: press conferences, scenes from the field, interviews and event coverage, presented without the studio presentation of a conventional news channel. It is used by broadcasters as a source of pictures and by viewers who want to follow events directly.

Access

The feed is streamed over the internet from the agency's own servers at 720p, and DHA publishes written news, photographs and video on dha.com.tr, where sections cover current affairs, politics, sport, the world, the economy, health and culture.
