Al Jazeera 2 online - Television live
Al Jazeera 2 Live Stream
Al Jazeera 2 is an Arabic-language news channel launched by the Al Jazeera Media Network on Sunday 12 April 2026. It is carried on the Nilesat satellite and complements the network's existing services, Al Jazeera and Al Jazeera Mubasher.
Purpose
The network presents the channel as a step in its expansion and as a place for deeper analytical coverage of Arab and international events. Where the main news channel works through rolling bulletins and Mubasher carries events as they happen, Al Jazeera 2 is built around explanation: what lies behind a development, who is driving it and what follows.
To that end the channel draws on analysts, politicians and specialists from Arab countries and from further afield, bringing them together for extended discussion rather than short interviews.
Broadcast Hours
Al Jazeera 2 does not run a twenty-four-hour schedule. It broadcasts seven hours a day, from five in the evening until midnight Mecca time, which corresponds to two in the afternoon until nine in the evening GMT.
That arrangement positions the channel as an evening service, timed for the hours when Arabic-speaking audiences are at home. Its output is linked to the main Al Jazeera channel's agenda, taking up the stories of the day and examining them at greater length.
Reception
The channel is available on Nilesat across the Arab world and streams continuously during its broadcast hours, with a high-definition feed that reaches viewers online as well as by satellite.
