Alghadeer TV, also known as Alghadeer Satellite Channel, is an Iraqi broadcaster that combines news coverage with religious, cultural, social and discussion programmes. The channel describes itself as an independent news outlet. Its published profile also sets out an Islamic editorial outlook and a commitment to Iraqi affairs, national unity and dialogue.

Origins in Najaf and Baghdad headquarters

According to the channel’s official background page, Alghadeer began terrestrial broadcasting from Najaf in 2003. It launched satellite broadcasting in 2008 and is now based in Baghdad. The station presents its development as an Iraqi media project shaped by national events and by the role of public discussion. Its stated principles include defending Iraq’s sovereignty and rejecting sectarian incitement, while bringing together national and Islamic themes.

News from Iraq and the wider region

The official website organizes its Iraqi coverage around politics, the economy, security, religion, sport and local affairs. Separate sections follow developments across the Islamic world, with country coverage that includes Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Turkey, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon and Egypt. International reporting covers topics such as the United States, Britain, Ukraine, Russia and France. Recent headlines range from government decisions and parliamentary affairs to security reports, economic issues, sport and regional diplomacy. This structure places Iraqi news at the center while keeping regional and international events in view.

Programmes and editorial range

Alghadeer’s official programme listings include discussion, religious, cultural, cooking and sports titles. Fi Usbu is among the channel’s programmes focused on current public affairs. The site also lists Fiqh Alhayat, including episodes presented by Ammar Al Khazai, and the cooking programme Matbakh Alghadeer. Other titles include Lilhiwar Baqiya, Bouslat Alshafah and Rijal Sadaqou. Together, these listings show a schedule that extends beyond daily reporting into faith, ideas, community subjects and food. The channel’s identity therefore rests on both its coverage of Iraqi events and a broader mix of editorial and cultural programming.
