Salaam TV is Zee Media’s Urdu news service for audiences across India. The broadcaster lists it as a 24 hour channel focused on news and identifies its coverage as pan Indian. Its editorial description extends beyond daily headlines to public issues, cultural events and discussion, giving the channel a distinct Urdu language perspective within a national news network.

Current affairs across regions

The channel says it covers regional, national and international issues, with particular attention to social questions that can be overlooked when political headlines dominate. This mix places local concerns beside wider developments and allows the service to address the interests of Urdu speaking viewers throughout the country. Zee Media presents Salaam TV as a continuous news channel rather than a single programme or regional bulletin.

News with Urdu culture

Salaam TV describes its identity through the idea of Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb, a shared cultural tradition, and the literary value of Adab. Its official channel profile says the schedule reaches beyond conventional news coverage to include events and mushairas, poetry gatherings that bring Urdu literature into the broadcast mix. The tagline Hindustan Ki Umeed reflects this connection between news, language and public life.

Programs in the channel’s history

Zee Entertainment’s corporate archive records Dars e Quran and Talaash Ek Roohani Awaaz Ki among notable programmes during the channel’s early years. The first brought Quranic discussion to the Urdu service, while the second was described as a reality format. These historical examples show how Salaam TV has combined news with religious, cultural and entertainment programming over time.

A national Urdu service

Zee Media’s annual reporting places Salaam TV in its national television portfolio and identifies Urdu as its language. The channel’s own description emphasizes balanced reporting and a broad view of public affairs. Together, these details define Salaam TV as a national Urdu news service with room for cultural expression, literary events and analysis alongside its coverage of current affairs.
