Jurnal TV is a Chișinău-based television channel that grew out of one of Moldova's first internet broadcasters and turned into a full national information station. Part of the Jurnal Trust Media holding, it works under the motto "Lideri. Liberi." and pairs rolling news with satire, social talk shows and its own drama productions.

News Through the Day, Analysis in the Evening

Daytime revolves around the Jurnal bulletins - Jurnalul orei 15:00 with Vasile Luchianu, Jurnalul orei 17:00 with Sofia Obadă and the flagship Jurnalul orei 19:00, while Călin Jucovschi fronts the short news updates. Politics goes deeper in the weekly Jurnalul Săptămânii review and in interview formats such as Ora Expertizei, Secretele Puterii, Trigger and Dialoguri cu Vlad Kulminski. The sharpest commentary on this Moldova news channel, though, belongs to Cabinetul din Umbră, a long-running satirical puppet show that spares no politician.

Mornings, Afternoons and Everything Human

The day opens with PopCorn Show, a lively morning magazine that boils the headlines along with the coffee. Social reporting drives Femeile Vorbesc, whose team takes up difficult family cases, and the returning Peste Picior. Food and roots culture get their share through Chef de gătit, Etno-Moldova and Savoare la Maximum, while Patrula Jurnal TV rides along with the road police.

Not Just News

Jurnal TV also invests in scripted television: the period drama Fedor, the crime series Renegat and Sprinter form an unusually ambitious fiction slate for a local information station. A Jurnal TV live signal keeps the whole mix available to viewers far beyond Chișinău.
