Channel U Live Stream

Channel U is a Mandarin-language free-to-air television channel in Singapore, owned by the state media conglomerate Mediacorp. Aimed at a younger audience, the channel broadcasts Mandarin entertainment programming, from drama and variety to music and youth-oriented content.

From SPH to Mediacorp

The channel was established in 2001 by SPH MediaWorks — the broadcasting arm of Singapore Press Holdings — as one of two new free-to-air channels. In 2004 SPH divested its television business to MediaCorp (now Mediacorp), and Channel U became part of the state broadcaster's family, where it developed into a complementary entertainment service to the flagship Mandarin channel, Channel 8.

Mandarin entertainment for a younger audience

Channel U's schedule centres on Mandopop and Mandarin-language entertainment, drama and variety programming pitched at younger Singapore viewers. The channel streams online through Mediacorp's meWATCH platform.
