Look Thoong TV is a music television channel from Laos named after look thoong (also written luk thung), the country-influenced popular music style of mainland Southeast Asia. The channel broadcasts music programming in Lao for fans of the genre, followed online through its live stream.

Music television from Laos

The channel's identity is tied to the sound of look thoong - "child of the fields" - the style of working-class storytelling song that spread from Thailand across the Mekong into Laos. Look Thoong TV carries the genre's songs, performances and music videos to Lao audiences through its online broadcast.

A genre channel for the region

Positioned between traditional and modern popular music, look thoong remains one of the most recognisable sounds of the region's countryside. Look Thoong TV is one of the channels keeping it on air for Lao-speaking listeners, serving a dedicated music audience within Laos' small television market.

Streaming music programming

Look Thoong TV distributes its music schedule through its live internet stream, carrying the genre's performances and videos to viewers in Laos and the Lao diaspora who follow the country's music television online.
