Telefuturo, widely known as Canal 4, is a Paraguayan television network headquartered in Asunción and owned by the A.J. Vierci Group. Launched by Led Monteiro's TV Acción on 12 November 1997, it reaches almost the entire population of Paraguay through physical channel 18.1 in Asunción and a network of repeaters across the country.

From Televisa catalogue to national production

At launch the channel relied on Televisa catalogue programmes, Universal series, feature films and children's content; within a year it had become a success, and in February 2000 it announced the expansion of its national signal to 23 new locations. Today Telefuturo employs close to 500 people and is a leader in local television production, including Paraguayan fiction, and in 2024 it added its own streaming service, TF Stream. Its sister channels are La Tele, Noticias PY, E40 TV and Palma TV.

On the schedule

The current grid mixes national productions and drama: the reality competition Calle 7 Al Límite on weekday afternoons, the second season of the action series Bajo Presión in late evening, and the telenovelas Leylifer and Vale Todo in the afternoon and prime time. A daily news service covers Paraguayan politics, security and events such as the record flooding of the Paraná river.
