Arryadia (الرياضية, "the sports one") is Morocco's public thematic sports channel, wholly owned by the SNRT - Societe Nationale de Radiodiffusion et de Television, the state broadcasting company. The channel was launched at noon on 16 September 2006 in Casablanca by the SNRT's president Faycal Laaraichi, in the wake of the liberalisation of the Moroccan audiovisual landscape.

National Sport First

The schedule is built around live competitions: about 80 percent national championships and 20 percent international events. Football dominates, but the grid also carries tennis, basketball, volleyball, handball, judo and equestrian sport. A typical day on the channel moves from youth football in the Arryadia Chabab strand and news flashes to Davis Cup tennis, Judo Grand Slam coverage, futsal internationals, Mediterranean Games football and pool-billiard tournaments, with documentaries such as Inside Sahraouiya in between. Each morning at 7:00 the broadcast day opens with the national anthem followed by a Quran reading.

Magazines of Moroccan Sport

Around ten magazines and talk formats frame the live coverage, among them Houate, Al Hakam Al Akhar, Tele Club, Bil Wadeh and the weekly review Hassilat al Ousboue. The channel's youth football tournaments - from the regional under-13 and under-15 leagues to international academy fixtures - have made it a reference for the grassroots game in Morocco.
