CNBC TV18 is an Indian pay television channel dedicated to business and financial news. Operated as a joint venture between Network18 Group and Versant under the international CNBC network, it broadcasts in English from Mumbai and serves viewers across India and the wider Asian region.

Origins in Asia Business News

The channel traces its roots to ABNi, the Indian sub-feed of the Dow Jones-led Asia Business News owned by TV18. When CNBC and Dow Jones merged their Asian and European networks under the CNBC banner in 1997, TV18 became CNBC's Indian partner, and the channel launched on 7 December 1999. Shereen Bhan serves as its Managing Editor.

Market-Hours Programming

The channel's grid follows the trading day, with live coverage of the Indian stock markets, company results, initial public offerings, the economy and personal finance. Studio programmes such as Power Breakfast in the morning and Business Lunch at midday anchor the market hours, with interviews of chief executives, fund managers, economists and policymakers, alongside the channel's special event coverage such as the India Business Leader Awards, presented since 2005.

Sister Channels

Network18's business family includes the Hindi-language CNBC Awaaz and the Gujarati-language CNBC Bajar, while CNBC TV18 Prime - launched in 2011 as an HD service and renamed in 2025 - is a widescreen, data-rich service aimed at premium investors.
