Imam Hussein TV 6 Live Stream

Imam Hussein TV 6 is the live channel of the Imam Hussein Media Group, the Shia broadcaster whose family of services runs to seven channels in as many languages. The sixth is given over to continuous live coverage.

The shrine on screen

The channel's subject is the shrine itself: the holy sites of Karbala and Najaf, broadcast as they are, with the crowds of pilgrims, the recitations and the observances that fill the Shia calendar. During Muharram, Arba'een and the other great commemorations the coverage runs at length, and for viewers who cannot make the pilgrimage it is the closest thing to being present.

Part of a network

The group's channels divide by language: Imam Hussein TV 1 in Persian, 2 in Arabic on Nilesat, 3 in English, 4 in Urdu, 6 live, Al-Zahra in Turkish and Shia Waves as its news service. Each has its own satellites and its own schedule, and the live channel supplies material that the others use in their coverage.

Watching

Imam Hussein TV 6 broadcasts in standard definition and streams from the group's own server, with the network's site listing the satellites and the audiences for each channel. Its programmes are also published on its video channel.
