ICTN - the Irving Community Television Network - is the television operation of Irving, Texas: the city's own network covering council meetings, city programs and community life for a city of more than two hundred thousand people in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Its programming streams live online, and its meeting coverage and programs are archived on the city's video platforms.

Few suburbs have a television operation as established as a big city's. Irving sits between Dallas and DFW Airport - home to the Las Colinas business district and a remarkable concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters - and its community television network reflects the scale of the place.

The Council on Camera

The core of the schedule is live coverage of city government: City Council regular meetings and work sessions, Planning and Zoning Commission public hearings, and the boards that shape development in one of the fastest-changing corners of the Metroplex - all streamed live and archived on demand. Around the meetings runs the rest of a city's civic week: department programs, community events, public safety information, and the local news coverage that keeps a city of Irving's size connected to itself.

Community Television, Texas-Size

Irving's geography explains the network's ambitions.
