CGTN (China Global Television Network) is the international English-language news channel of China Central Television, broadcasting from Beijing. Launched on 31 December 2016 as the rebrand of CCTV's international service, it carries China's view of the world to a global audience.

China's Voice in English

CGTN is the English-language screen of China's state television: its grid runs on continuous news editions, current-affairs programs, documentaries and talk shows covering China and the world in English. The channel's correspondents report from Beijing and from CGTN's bureaus in Washington, London, Nairobi and beyond.

The channel's programs include the flagship news editions, the interview shows with global figures, and the documentary output on Chinese society, economy and culture - all produced for an international audience.

The Global Arm of CCTV

CGTN belongs to CCTV, China's state broadcaster, and is its window to the world in English, with sister channels in Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian. It broadcasts by satellite and streams live on cgtn.com.
