CBS News New York Live Stream
CBS News New York is the local streaming news service built around WCBS-TV, channel 2, the flagship station of the CBS television network. It is owned and operated by CBS Television Stations and, together with the Riverhead-licensed independent station WLNY-TV, works from studios inside the CBS Broadcast Center on West 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan.
Its transmitter stands at One World Trade Center, the tower that replaced the World Trade Center mast destroyed in 2001 and now carries much of the city's broadcast signal.
The Station
The history of WCBS-TV dates to CBS's experimental station W2XAB, opened in the early 1930s, which made the company one of the pioneers of American television. Channel 2 became a commercial station in 1941 and has carried the CBS schedule ever since, and its newsroom has documented the city through the decades that followed, from the postwar boom to the present.
Streaming Output
The service carries New York's reporting beyond the broadcast schedule: breaking stories from the five boroughs, weather and transit disruption, City Hall and Albany politics, crime and the courts, and coverage of the region's finance, media, culture and property markets.
The newsroom reports from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island, with correspondents covering New Jersey and the northern suburbs as well.
Access
CBS News New York streams continuously over the internet from the CBS interactive video network and is available through the CBS News website, app and connected televisions.
