TV channels Hong Kong
Hong Kong television is a layer between the city and the world: the public broadcaster of the Special Administrative Region, satellite networks for the entire Chinese-speaking world and channels of religious communities.
The Public Broadcaster
RTHK TV 32 is the 24-hour Chinese-language television channel of Radio Television Hong Kong, the public broadcaster of the Special Administrative Region. Its schedule includes news, society programs and documentaries about the life of the city.
Satellite Networks for the Chinese World
Hong Kong has for decades been a base for satellite television aimed at the Chinese-speaking audience of Asia and the diaspora. Phoenix TV - Phoenix Satellite Television, founded in Hong Kong in 1996 - has grown into one of the largest Chinese broadcasters abroad. HKSTV - Hong Kong Satellite Television - runs Chinese-language satellite broadcasting from Hong Kong to viewers across Asia and beyond.
Channels of Religious Communities
The Buddhist side is represented by the HK Buddhist Education Foundation - the channel of the Hong Kong Buddhist Education Association (AMTB), broadcasting the teaching of Pure Land Buddhism around the clock. The Christian side is Good TV Hong Kong, with sermons and teaching programs for the city's faithful.
