GOOD TV (好消息電視台) is the world's first Chinese Christian television station - a non-profit broadcaster founded in Taiwan in 1997 and on air since 9 September 1998, run by the Gabriel Gospel Broadcasting Foundation. Based in New Taipei City, it serves Chinese-speaking viewers far beyond Taiwan: since 2009 its programme has been carried in Hong Kong via the bbTV network, alongside Malaysia, the Philippines and other overseas communities.

From Videotapes to Satellite Television

The station grew out of the work of a Christian high-school teacher from Hsinchu who, in the early 1990s, copied Christian programmes onto videotapes and distributed them to Taiwan's cable stations. When cable television was legalised in 1996, the ministry moved to satellite: GOOD TV was founded in 1997 with Zeng Guosheng as its first chief executive and began broadcasting on 9 September 1998. After its first headquarters were damaged in the 1999 Jiji earthquake, the station moved to Taipei's Neihu district and, in 2012, to its own media ministry building in Zhonghe, New Taipei.

Two Channels, One Message

GOOD TV operates the main Composite Channel and GOOD 2 (the Truth Channel) for overseas Chinese audiences. Its best-known programmes include the testimony talk show 真情部落格, on air since the station's first year, the family magazine 轉轉發現愛, the health strand 愛+好醫生, the children's animated series 超級妙妙書 and the 烤箱讀書會 reading show, which won a Golden Bell award in 2013. In 2014 the station received the NRB International Television Ministry Award.
