TV channels Congo
Congolese television lives on both banks of the great river. From Brazzaville and Kinshasa - two capitals facing each other across the Congo - and from the Atlantic coast at Pointe-Noire, these channels carry news, music and a powerful evangelical tradition, in French, to viewers at home and across a worldwide diaspora.
Two Capitals on the Dial
Canal Kin Télévision - "the People's Channel" - has broadcast from Kinshasa since 1993 as the city's first private general-interest channel, with a socio-political bent. Across the river, Congo Planète TV carries news and entertainment from Brazzaville to the Republic of Congo and its diaspora. Congo Live TV adds an independent, bilingual news voice to the mix.
Pan-African News from the Congo Coast
Africanews is the multilingual pan-African news channel launched in January 2016, covering the continent's affairs from an African perspective; it built its newsroom in Pointe-Noire, on the Congolese Atlantic shore.
The Music That Rules Both Congos
Congolese rumba and ndombolo are the shared pride of the two states, and the music channels carry them worldwide: 10ème Rue TV with Congolese music and entertainment, and Congo Planète TV 2, streaming popular music from the DR Congo and beyond.
The Evangelical Wave
Christian broadcasting is a force across both Congos. Amen Tv Sat is the channel of Apostle Léopold Mutombo Kalombo's ministry in Kinshasa, and Canal CVV International is the television window of the Christian Ministry of Spiritual Warfare - sermons, worship and teaching in French for a global audience of believers.
From a Kinshasa debate to a Brazzaville newscast to a praise service beamed to the diaspora, this is the television of the Congo basin: plural, musical and devout.
