Palestine Today online - Television live

Palestine Today Live Stream

Palestine Today, Filastin al-Yawm in Arabic, is a satellite news service devoted to Palestinian affairs. Its editorial scope is stated on its own site: the cause is covered as a national, Arab, Islamic and humanitarian question, and the newsroom follows events in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem day by day.

Reporting on the Ground

The channel's reporting is built from field accounts. Recent coverage has followed shelling and gunfire across the Gaza Strip, the casualty figures issued by the territory's health ministry, and raids and arrests across West Bank towns. Agricultural stories appear regularly, including attacks on olive pickers during the harvest and the destruction of trees.

Monitoring reports are another staple. The channel carries the monthly count of violations recorded against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and follows the work of prisoners' organisations and human rights groups.

Politics and Analysis

Political coverage examines Palestinian factions, elections and the effect of foreign votes on the cause. Analysis pieces have dealt with the scenarios that follow Israeli elections, with the legacy of the Balfour Declaration across generations, and with Palestinian representation in the United States Congress.

Distribution

The service broadcasts by satellite and streams continuously over the internet, with its site carrying articles, video reports and the live signal, and a YouTube channel holding the televised output.
