AMX Noticias Live Stream
AMX Noticias is the news service of Mexiquense Television, the public broadcaster of the State of Mexico, operated by the Sistema Mexiquense de Medios Publicos. The channel carries state and municipal news for the valleys of Toluca and Mexico City, and appears on digital subchannel 34.2 of the network.
The Network Behind It
Television Mexiquense began broadcasting on 10 July 1984 through transmitters at Metepec on channel 7 for Toluca, Tejupilco on channel 12 and Atlacomulco on channel 4. The Metepec station moved to channel 12 in 1988 when channel 7 in Mexico City signed on.
In 1998 responsibility passed to the newly formed Sistema de Radio y Television Mexiquense, part of the state secretariat of education, culture and social welfare. In 1999 coverage was extended to the east of the capital, over the Cuautitlan-Texcoco valley, through XHPTP-TV on channel 34 and a tower on the Cerro de los Tres Padres. Later that year the system was placed directly under the state government, and its programming moved away from straight institutional coverage.
Today the network runs two high-power transmitters and 28 retransmitters, together with six radio stations.
News Coverage
The newsroom follows the government of the state, its budget negotiations with the federation, and the health and security services, with reports from municipalities such as Tepotzotlan and Toluca. Coverage also deals with local crime, public works and the state's political calendar, including the internal contests of the governing party.
Where to Watch
AMX Noticias is carried on the Mexiquense digital line-up and streamed through the broadcaster's website, where the live signal runs alongside the network's other channels.
