ALWifak News TV Live Stream

ALWifak News TV is the online television service of the Al-Wifak group, a media, cultural and social organisation based in Tripoli in northern Lebanon. The group is headed by the journalist Ramez Abdel Qader al-Fari, and the channel was launched as an internet television station broadcasting from Tripoli, with a trial transmission on the city's cable network and a stream on the web.

The Group Behind the Channel

Al-Wifak grew in stages. Its newspaper, Al-Wifak, was licensed by the Lebanese Ministry of Information in 2001 under permit number 154 and covers the life of Tripoli and the north. A centre for journalism, printing, publishing and distribution followed in 2002, and the cultural association was founded in 2005, working on cultural, development and social questions.

The news website was established in 2008 and licensed by the National Media Council under decision number 77 of 24 April 2012. An online radio station, Sawt al-Wifak, began in 2010, and a sports club was added in 2012.

News Coverage

The channel and its website report on Lebanese affairs, with particular attention to Tripoli and the northern governorates, alongside Arab and international news. Sections cover politics, the economy, civil society, municipalities, unions, culture, sport, health and the environment.

Editorial material includes interviews, investigations and opinion articles, and the site keeps an archive of the newspaper's back issues under a separate section.

Other Output

Recorded activities of the group's institutions are carried alongside the live stream, and the channel publishes its reports on its YouTube account.
