Pudhari News is a Marathi-language television news channel from Maharashtra and part of the media group behind the long-running Pudhari publication. The channel carries reporting on developments in the state alongside national and international affairs, reflecting the group’s broad journalism network and its focus on Marathi-speaking audiences.

A new part of a longstanding media group

Pudhari Publications began in 1939, founded by Dr. G. G. Jadhav. Over the decades, the organization expanded beyond print into radio and digital platforms. Pudhari News joined that media portfolio as a television service in August 2023, extending the group’s reporting into electronic broadcasting. Its launch marked another stage in the development of a Maharashtra-based Marathi news organization with a history across several forms of media.

Reporting from Maharashtra and beyond

The channel’s central beat is the public life of Maharashtra: politics, society, the economy, education and other developments that affect people across the state. Pudhari’s own description emphasizes in-depth coverage and an extensive reporter network. The channel also follows major national and international events, placing local stories in a wider context. Its parent organization describes its digital journalism as ranging from hyperlocal news to international coverage.

Marathi journalism across formats

Marathi is the language that connects the channel with its core audience. The coverage includes state affairs and important developments beyond the state, while the wider Pudhari platform also publishes news, analysis and video reports. This mix lets the newsroom address both immediate regional concerns and larger stories that shape public discussion.

A newsroom with regional roots

Pudhari News belongs to a media group that has grown from a Maharashtra publication into a wider organization spanning television, radio and digital media. Its journalism draws on local reporting while following events at state, national and international levels. The channel’s identity remains closely tied to Marathi-language reporting and the communities of Maharashtra, with public affairs and social issues forming part of its broader editorial remit.
