El Toro TV is Spain's conservative talk channel - the television arm of Grupo Intereconomía, broadcasting from Madrid with political debate, current affairs, investigative reports and films around the clock. Formerly Intereconomía Televisión, it streams live online, the platform that became its principal home after national broadcast distribution ended a decade ago.

The channel describes itself, in the plainest terms Spanish television offers, as right-of-center: a news-and-opinion channel built for an audience that feels unrepresented by the country's mainstream broadcasters.

El Gato al Agua and the Debate Grid

The schedule is opinion-driven television, and its centerpiece is El Gato al Agua - the nightly panel debate that defined Intereconomía's combative style and still anchors the channel's evening, running live on the broadcast stream and on the channel's continuous online feed. Around it runs the channel's full range: political, economic, sports and social information; investigative reports; films, series and documentaries produced in-house and acquired; and the interviews with figures from Spain's political right that the channel was built to carry.

From Expansión TV to El Toro

Grupo Intereconomía was founded in 1995 by Julio Ariza with the economic news radio station Radio Intereconomía, and grew into a media block that added the newspaper La Gaceta and a family of radio and publishing properties. The television arm arrived in May 2005, when the group bought the assets of Expansión TV from Recoletos and built the channel that became Intereconomía Televisión. Economic difficulties from 2013 ended the channel's national broadcast in 2014, and the operation rebuilt itself around local digital terrestrial licenses - four in the Community of Madrid (Madrid capital, Móstoles, Fuenlabrada and Pozuelo de Alarcón), the Balearic Islands and licenses in the Valencian Community, with broadcasts from Castellón and Sagunto - alongside the internet distribution that now carries the channel nationwide and worldwide under the El Toro TV brand.

The Bull and the Screen

The group's logo is a bull, inspired by the Charging Bull of Wall Street - a fitting emblem for a company whose stated values, in its own words, rest on Christian humanism and the defense of life, liberty, the unity of Spain and judicial independence. The channel carries those values into a modern distribution model: a full high-definition live stream, a round-the-clock online feed, and a video operation that puts the debates and reports in front of an audience that watches Spanish politics from Madrid to the diaspora - the bull of Intereconomía, still charging on screen.
