News18 Marathi is a 24-hour Marathi-language news channel based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, run as a joint venture between the Network18 Group and the Lokmat Group, the publisher of the state's leading Marathi newspaper. The channel was launched as IBN Lokmat on 6 April 2008, the day of the Gudi Padwa festival, and was branded News18 Lokmat from November 2017 before taking its current name.

Politics of Maharashtra

The channel's newsroom follows the state's political life in detail: the government and the chief minister's office, the legislative council elections, the Marathwada and Vidarbha graduate constituencies, and the figures who shape the state's politics — from the chief minister to leaders such as Raj Thackeray and Sanjay Gaikwad. Elections, assembly sessions and party campaigns receive continuous coverage.

Bulletins, Summits and Public Issues

The schedule includes quick-fire bulletins such as Superfast 100 and the evening roundup Top 18 News Today, alongside special coverage and the channel's Rising Bharat Summit events. Public issues — from drought in the interior to the Bhimashankar tree-cutting controversy — receive extended attention, as do weather, agriculture and the concerns of Maharashtra's districts.
