SBT - Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão - is one of Brazil's great television networks, founded on 19 August 1981 by Silvio Santos and headquartered at the CDT Anhanguera studios in São Paulo. The network was born from Santos's earlier TVS operation and new concessions, becoming the Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão.

The Silvio Santos Network

Brazil's second network after Globo, SBT built its identity on popular entertainment: the Sunday variety institution Programa Silvio Santos, Domingo Legal, the Programa do Ratinho and the annual Teleton charity telethon raising funds for the AACD children's charity - alongside telenovelas, children's programming and journalism.

Entertainment and Sport

The grid combines novelas with entertainment formats and sports coverage - including SBT's share of Brazilian football and, in recent years, free-to-air UEFA Champions League rights in Brazil.
