Al Baghdadia TV Live Stream

Al Baghdadia TV (البغدادية) is an independent Iraqi-owned Arabic-language satellite channel based in Cairo, Egypt. A nationalist channel, it is funded directly by its CEO, the civil engineer Dr Awn Hussain Al Khashlok. During the Iraqi insurgency several of the station's journalists were murdered, and international broadcasters came to depend on Al Baghdadia for news from Iraq.

A Voice for Iraqis

The channel's best-known programme is the live morning show Al Baghdadia Wa El Nas - Al Baghdadia and the People - a free format where Iraqis give their opinion and send messages to the government. The channel, nicknamed Umm al-Fuqara - the Mother of the Poor - is often critical of the US presence in Iraq, and its CEO holds that democracy should be created by true Iraqis, not by force.

Two Channels

In 2012 the Al-Baghdadia Media Group launched its second channel, B2 (Al Baghdadia 2), broadcasting series, drama, films and entertainment - the first entertainment channel in Iraq. The network broadcasts on Nilesat and Hot Bird.
