Antofagasta TV is the regional television channel of Antofagasta in northern Chile. Broadcasting on UHF free-to-air channel 30 and digital terrestrial channel 32, it serves the region with news and entertainment.

The First Digital Station of Chile's Regions

The channel's story began on 16 October 2006 under the name Famtel Televisión, created by the comedian Carlos Trujillo - Carloco - on channel 30 of the local airwaves. A 2008 strategic alliance with CNN Chile made the station's footage part of national coverage, including its reports on the 2014 earthquakes and tsunami alerts that hit the country.

On 27 July 2010 the channel received the SUBTEL concession to begin experimental digital broadcasts on UHF channel 32 - becoming the first regional television station in Chile to go digital - and within months it had bought HD cameras and two HD mobile units, shared with CNN Chile. Analogue broadcasting ended in July 2018, and since May 2020 the channel has also been carried on Movistar's IPTV service.

Regional Coverage of the North

The channel's grid covers the Antofagasta region: local news, entertainment programmes and sports coverage for the region's audience, with live broadcasts of the region's events, and the signal also runs on the channel's own portal, antofagasta.tv.
