LTV1 online - Television live
LTV1 Live Stream
On 6 November 1954, a test signal went out from a studio in Soviet Riga, and television came to the Baltics for the first time. That signal grew into LTV1 - the first and oldest national television station in the Baltic states.
Regular broadcasting began on 20 November 1954. Seventy years on, LTV1 is the flagship of Latvijas Televīzija and the LSM public media group - and from 2021 to 2025 it was the most watched channel in Latvia.
The National Grid
The channel carries the country's reference schedule: the morning program, the news editions at the day's key hours led by the flagship evening bulletin, analytical and current-affairs programs, documentaries on Latvian history and culture, and the national ceremonies and election nights that the whole country watches together.
Its remit is written in the public-service tradition: to inform, to educate, and to reflect all of Latvia - its politics and its culture, its Russian-speaking and Latvian-speaking audiences alike. Produced in Riga and broadcasting in high definition, LTV1 remains the channel Latvia turns to first.
