Duna TV - Duna Televízió, "Danube Television" - is one of Hungary's public television channels, headquartered at Kunigunda útja 64 in Budapest. Launched on 24 December 1992, it has been the national main channel of the Hungarian public media since 15 March 2015, carrying the country's public-service broadcasting to Hungarians at home and abroad.

For Hungarians at Home and Abroad

The channel's founding mission reaches beyond Hungary's borders: by satellite it covers Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand, North Africa and the Middle East, as well as the cable networks of the neighbouring countries where Hungarian minorities live. Its schedule promotes cultural values, Hungarian identity and the mother tongue of Hungarians abroad, with educational programmes, science coverage and cultural magazines serving the diaspora in the Carpathian Basin and beyond.

In the Public Family

Duna TV was long managed by the MTVA fund and on 1 July 2015 was merged into the Duna Media Service, the legal successor that is an active member of the European Broadcasting Union. Its sister channels are Duna World, M1, M2, M2 Petőfi, M4 Sport, M4 Sport+ and M5 - together forming Hungary's public television family.

Culture, Education and National Life

The schedule is built on public-service content: cultural magazines, educational programmes and science coverage, alongside Hungarian drama, documentaries on the country's history and heritage, and coverage of national events. Online, the channel streams live on the public media's MédiaKlikk platform.
