TV 2 Lorry - renamed TV 2 Kosmopol in January 2023 after 34 years - is the regional public broadcaster of Denmark's capital region, reaching up to two million inhabitants, the largest potential audience of the TV 2 regions. Its first broadcast went out on 2 January 1990, and its newsroom sits in the historic Lorry entertainment building on Frederiksberg, which the station has owned since 1999.

Coverage and service

With a staff of around 90 and a public-service contract with the Ministry of Culture, the station covers 34 municipalities of the capital region, from Copenhagen and Frederiksberg to Helsingør and Roskilde. It produces the daily regional news on TV 2 at 19:30, additional short bulletins, and its own 24-hour channel, launched in 2012.

The newsroom's remit is the everyday life of the metropolis: housing and traffic, city politics and crime, the harbour, the metro and the culture calendar, reported for a region that spans from the Øresund coast to the hills of North Zealand.

From Lorry to Kosmopol

The station's history is tied to its Frederiksberg home - the old Lorry venue that gave it its first name. Long-serving director Dan Tschernia led the station from 1989 to 2014, followed by Morten Kjær Petersen (2015-2025) and, since 1 August 2025, Thomas Falbe. Current presenters include Casper Dalgård, Kasper Blomgren, Camilla Bresemann, Rebekka Juul Bruun, Mette Ejlersen and Kristian Koed.
