Al Resalah Live Stream

Al Resalah - The Message - is the Islamic satellite channel of the Rotana group. It was founded in 2006 by the Saudi businessman Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, who brought in Dr. Tariq al-Suwaidan as its first general manager and the guide of its editorial policy before the two later parted ways.

A family channel with a religious brief

From the outset the channel set out to reinforce Islamic and human values and to gather the Arab family around one screen. Its programming mixes the educational with the social, the developmental with the sharia, and adds lighter entertainment - all delivered, in the channel's own description, in a calm manner and a balanced tone that avoids incitement. The subject range runs from talk shows and women's programmes to family affairs and religious guidance.

The 2020 identity: moderation

In April 2020 Al Resalah introduced a new identity built on a single word, i'tidal - moderation - and set itself the task of spreading a culture of moderation and countering extremism. The aim behind it is stated plainly: to influence Arab thought positively and to keep young people on the middle path, neither extreme nor lax, and to encourage them towards constructive participation in public life.

Scholars on air and on the board

The channel's presenting roster has included Dr. Abdullah al-Mutlaq, Dr. Hassan al-Husseini, Dr. Abdullah al-Maslih, Dr. Rashed al-Zahrani, Dr. Abdulrahman al-Shahri, Dr. Ibrahim al-Duwish, Dr. Khaled al-Batli, Dr. Tariq al-Habib, Dr. Ghazi al-Shammari, Dr. Mohammed al-Thuwaini and Dr. Abdullah al-Munee. A higher advisory council brings together Abdullah bin Bayyah, Omar bin Hafeez, Ali Gomaa and Abu Bakr al-Mashhur.
