Surgut is an oil city - one of the richest in Russia, built on the petroleum wealth of the Khanty-Mansi region of Western Siberia. Surgut Inform TV, broadcasting as C1, is its hometown channel, and its newsroom covers the city that the oil built.

The Oil City's Screen

The channel's journalism follows Surgut closely: local news on the municipality and the petroleum industry that drives it, reports on the city's life - its neighborhoods, its services, its events - and the stories of its residents. The SurgutInformTV operation runs both the channel and the sitv.ru news site, so its coverage reaches the city on screen and in text.

Beyond the news, the grid carries series and films, Russian and foreign, and family programming for the evenings - the mix that a city channel offers its viewers. On the channel's own description, it works for urban viewers with diverse tastes, for adults and children alike.

From the Khanty-Mansi Region

Surgut sits in one of the world's great oil regions, and its channel reflects a city that grew fast on that wealth. Surgut Inform TV broadcasts locally and online, keeping the city connected to its own news - the hometown screen of Russia's oil capital.
