Univision Live Stream

Univision is an American Spanish-language free-to-air television network owned by TelevisaUnivision, and the largest provider of Spanish-language content in the United States. The network is headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, New York, with its main studios and production facilities in Doral, Florida, and its signal reaches pay-television providers and local stations in more than 60 markets with large Spanish-speaking communities.

From KCOR-TV to the Spanish International Network

The network's roots go back to 1955, when Raoul A. Cortez launched KCOR-TV in San Antonio, Texas - the nation's first Spanish-only television outlet. In 1961 the station was sold to a group led by the Mexican media magnate Emilio Azcarraga Vidaurreta, owner of Telesistema Mexicano, the forerunner of Televisa, and on 29 September 1962 the Spanish International Network began operations, linking Spanish-language stations across the United States. The network was renamed Univision in 1987.

The TelevisaUnivision Era

In February 2020 Searchlight Capital Partners and ForgeLight acquired a 64 percent majority stake in Univision, with Televisa keeping 36 percent, and Wade Davis became CEO in December 2020. In 2022 Univision and Televisa completed their merger into TelevisaUnivision, combining the US network with Televisa's production arm and launching the ViX streaming service. Sister brands include the Galavision and Unimás channels and the TUDN sports network.

Programming

The schedule mixes telenovelas and drama series with sports, sitcoms, reality and variety shows, news and imported Spanish-language feature films. Its best-known brands are the national newscast Noticiero Univision, the morning show Despierta América, the entertainment magazine El Gordo y la Flaca and the news magazine Primer Impacto, along with the annual Premio Lo Nuestro music awards. In markets such as Los Angeles, Miami and New York the local newscasts of Univision's owned-and-operated stations compete directly with their English-language counterparts, and football coverage - Liga MX and the Champions League - airs under the TUDN banner.
