TeleBari is the local television station of Bari, in Puglia, and one of the longest-running private broadcasters in Italy: it was founded by Orfeo Mazzitelli and began broadcasting on 19 April 1973. The station marked half a century on air as a family affair - after founder Orfeo and publisher Dante Mazzitelli, the channel is today directed by Maddalena Mazzitelli - and in recent years it has widened its catchment area from the Bari province to the whole of Puglia and Basilicata on digital terrestrial channel 17.

Seven hours of news a day

Information is the core of TeleBari, with around seven hours of news programming daily. The flagship is the TG Telebari bulletin in its morning and evening editions, covering cronaca, current affairs and events in Bari and its province, from city hall to the port and the university.

Mornings feature Buongiorno Bari, a talk format with interviews - including the "Un caffè con..." conversations with local administrators, doctors and cultural figures - while prime time hosts Telebari Social Night, the show devoted to social topics, with the channel's productions curated by Silvia De Sandi.

Sport

Sport coverage is led by the daily TB Sport and by 91° Minuto, the football programme following Bari and the other Puglian clubs. The channel's newsroom produces daily match reports, transfer news and analysis for the Bari audience, and its cameras are present at the stadium for the big nights of the red and white.

Over five decades the station has become part of the city's identity - the channel Bari turns to for its own news, its own football and its own conversations.
