Ishtar TV is an Assyrian broadcasting channel headquartered in Ankawa, Iraq. It was established by Sarkis Aghajan and was led in its early period by George Mansour, the channel's first general manager, in 2005.

The network broadcasts mostly in Syriac, with Arabic and Kurdish also heard during the day. Its identity is tied to the Chaldean, Syriac and Assyrian communities of Iraq and the diaspora.

News and community coverage

Ishtar TV's output combines community news with wider Iraqi and international reporting. Its sections include news of the community, general news, sport, church news, interviews, opinion articles, literature and poetry.

The channel also maintains extensive community coverage: villages, churches, institutions, martyrs, cultural events, health items and video reports from across the Nineveh Plain, Kurdistan Region and the diaspora.

Culture and language

Alongside news, Ishtar TV carries songs, video clips, books and archival material connected with Syriac and Assyrian heritage. This cultural archive is a central part of the channel's role.

Ishtar TV therefore works as a community broadcaster: local and church news, cultural preservation, sport and public discussion for Syriac-, Arabic- and Kurdish-speaking audiences linked to the Assyrian and Chaldean communities.
