MDR-Fernsehen Live Stream

MDR Fernsehen is the television channel of Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, the public broadcaster for Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, broadcasting from Leipzig. Viewers who watch TV online can follow the channel live anywhere.

Public Broadcasting for Central Germany

MDR was founded after reunification as the public broadcaster of the three central German states, a member of the ARD network. Its television channel combines the regional program for Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia with national ARD productions, documentaries and entertainment from the Leipzig studios.

Three States, One Evening

The schedule is anchored by MDR aktuell, the regional news, with editions for each of the three states. Daytime carries service magazines, garden and consumer programs and documentaries, while prime time brings drama series, quiz and entertainment shows and the channel's documentary premieres. Regional windows give each state its own evening program.

From Bauhaus to the Peaceful Revolution

The grid combines news and current affairs with the channel's well-known docu-soaps and regional magazines, following the lives of craftspeople, farmers and communities across the three states. History documentaries on the region's past - from the Bauhaus to the peaceful revolution - are a signature, and ARD national programs fill the shared slots.

The Leipzig Studios

Programs are made in Leipzig and the state capitals of Dresden, Magdeburg and Erfurt. The channel's presenters are household names in central Germany, and its regional newsrooms cover the three states district by district.

Central Germany's Own Voice

MDR live streaming keeps the regional channel on screen at any hour - public television from Leipzig for three states.
