TV2000 Live Stream
TV2000 - formerly SAT2000 - is the television channel of the Italian Bishops' Conference, the CEI. It went on air on 1 January 1998, broadcasts in Italian, and reaches viewers across Italy and beyond by satellite and online.
A Catholic channel with a real schedule
TV2000 is not a liturgical relay but a full broadcaster with a Catholic identity, and its schedule shows it. TG2000 runs the news, with current-affairs programmes and interviews alongside; the day includes the Mass, the Angelus and the Rosary; and around those the channel carries films, documentaries, cultural programming and talk shows on faith and society.
Its place in Italian television
Italy has one of the most developed Catholic media landscapes in Europe, with the CEI running newspapers, radio and television as one coordinated operation. TV2000 is the television arm, and its programming is made to stand alongside the country's general channels rather than apart from them: production values, presenters and formats are those of Italian television, applied to religious and cultural subjects.
Watching
TV2000 broadcasts in high definition and streams through its own Akamai infrastructure, with a live section, a schedule and an on-demand archive on its site. Its programmes are also published on its video channel, where the news, the cultural series and the religious celebrations are collected.
