PilisTV Live Stream

PilisTV is a regional television channel serving four settlements of the Pilis Basin in Pest County, Hungary: Solymár, Pilisvörösvár, Piliscsaba and Pilisszentiván. Available exclusively on local cable and IPTV networks, it is devoted entirely to the life of its home communities. The channel is operated by Pilis Televízió Kft.

Four Villages, One Channel

Pilis Televízió Kft was founded at the end of 2004 in Solymár, and the channel began broadcasting on 1 September 2006. Its signal has never reached beyond the four partner settlements of the Pilis area, a basin roughly 25 kilometers northwest of Budapest framed by the Pilis and Buda hills. That tight footprint defines the station's character: municipal affairs, community events, local sport and cultural life form the core of its schedule.

Local Life on Screen

The channel's programming presents the everyday life, culture and events of the four settlements, with particular attention to the region's local history. Its reporting ranges from council sessions and community celebrations to longtime village traditions; recent coverage published by the station includes the Kakasszépségverseny, the area's rooster beauty contest. Over two decades of recording, the station has assembled a local-history video archive described as invaluable.

An Archive at the Center of Debate

In recent years the relationship between the channel and the municipalities it covers has been reshaped by public debate over the broadcaster's future, its financing and the fate of that multi-decade video archive, including proposals to bring the collection under municipal ownership. Whatever the outcome, PilisTV continues to document the daily life of the Pilis Basin for its four communities.
