CCTV-13 (CCTV News Channel, 新闻频道) is China Central Television's dedicated 24-hour news channel, launched on 1 May 2003 as the country's first round-the-clock news service. It is the news backbone of China's state television, carried nationwide on satellite and terrestrial networks.

Viewers follow CCTV-13 for national news, live coverage of China's political events and rolling bulletins through the day and night.

The Broadcast Day

The day opens with Chaowen Tianxia (朝闻天下, Morning News) at 6:00, followed by the midday News 30 Minutes (新闻30分) and the rolling Xinwen Zhibojian (新闻直播间, Live Room). At 19:00 the channel simulcasts Xinwen Lianbo (新闻联播), China's flagship evening news, followed by the investigative magazine Jiaodian Fangtan (焦点访谈, Topics in Focus).

Evening and night carry News 1+1, the current-affairs analysis format, Dongfang Shikong (东方时空, Oriental Horizon), Guoji Shixun (国际时讯, World Report) and 24 Hours (24小时), the late-night rolling bulletin.
